Games, Curriculum and Technology for Adaptive, Relevant Learning
In 2011 I Co-Founder and CEO of Civic Games, an edtech startup. Civic Games emerged out of my years of teaching, coaching, traveling, and working with kids. I realized that we could improve education through careful design of the learning experience.
Civic Games offers board games, professional trainings, and customized curriculum development, and aspires to enter the mobile games and adaptive learning software space in the future. We specifically target social studies teachers but we aim to serve all students and educators grade six through adult learning.
Civic Games was launched in the fall of 2012 as I teamed up with Jonathan Ng, another educator and game designer, and Erik Roll, an experienced technologist. We are continuing the work Jon and I started in 2011 to build game based and adaptive learning tools for teachers and schools.
When I began the adventure into social entrepreneurship, originally I formed a company called LLESS Inc, which stood for Leveraging Leadership to Engineer Smarter Systems. This entity now serves as the parent company to Civic Games.
